Once again, the state of Nebraska becomes the scene for the sale of a massive number of vintage Chevrolets and once again, VanDerBrink Auctions is handling the sales of this huge collection.
VanDerBrink made headlines back in 2013 when approximately 500 vintage vehicles, some still on the original MSO, were sold from the former Lambrecht Chevrolet dealership. Car enthusiasts from all over the world descended upon Pierce, Nebraska to experience this truly unique offering of vehicles.
Now, lightning is striking twice in Nebraska, with the upcoming sale of approximately 300 vintage vehicles, most of them being 1958-
1968 full-size Chevy models, from the Tim Robinson Collection in Fremont, Nebraska. We first met Tim and his family in person at the 2025 NIA Convention in the Wisconsin Dells. He told us about his 40+ year collection of vehicles and offered tours of his properties where the vehicles were stored.
Unfortunately, the local municipality has forced him to get rid of a large portion of the collection, even though the overwhelming majority of his neighbors treat the collection as a landmark. “Most of my neighbors havbeen very supportive of my cars,” Robinson said in a March 31st phone interview. “Even most of the town officials have been great.”
Unfortunately one person, a local land developer, filed complaints forcing code enforcement and a liquidation of the majority of the collection. Though the Robinsons own about 400 cars, the sale is going to move 300 or so from the property, which should alleviate the issue.
Robinson is trying to remain as positive about the developments as he can. “It wasn’t our plan but we’re going to downsize and use the proceeds to build more storage buildings and purchase some high-quality examples for our collection.” He added, “We’re not going to get to restoring all of these cars, so it will be a great opportunity for people looking for good, solid project cars.”
Yvette VanDerBrink, President of VanDerBrink Auctions is very optimistic about this auction, which is set for the weekend of October 3rd 2026. “We believe that this auction will have a tremendous amount of impact,” she said in a separate
March 31st phone interview. “We’re hoping this one generates as much interest as the Lambrecht Chevy auction.“
