March 14, 2009
Greetings!

The clocks have all been turned ahead and spring officially arrives next week.  Now, if only all this snow in my yard would just disappear...but all in good time.

The special double-issue of Impala News (2008 Vol. 6 and 2009 Vol 1) has been sent to the print house, where they're pushing it thru to mail it by the end of the month.  We've heard from members that individual magazine delivery dates have varied by up to three weeks in some areas of the country, but hopefully you'll have your copy soon.  I can't wait to see it!

The March/April issue is already in the hands of our capable graphics and text editors.  For a Type A person like me, deadlines are a challenge waiting to be conquered, and I'm excited to see things moving forward.  Thanks for hanging in there with us - and thanks for sending us your Chevy Revue or feature car articles.  Keep 'em coming!

On a personal note, we're making progress with "Edna", my '64 wagon.  She got her new paint job this week (thanks, Cliff!) and she looks great in her snazzy coat of Lagoon Aqua with a white roof - maybe I'll be able to sneak away from my desk and get some pictures to show you next time...

Have a great week -

The special double-issue is now at the printers, and here is a sampling of what you'll see:
  • Cover Car:  The "TOW CAR", featuring  Randy Fierke's 1969 Impala Sport Coupe
  • "Car Photography 101" by Doug Marion
  • "Marketing in Miniature"

We've combined the Nov/Dec '08 and Jan/Feb '09 issues into a single magazine with 32 pages.  This has helped us push toward current publication dates as well as ensuring each member receives their full subscription.  Several members suggested this, and we thought it was a great idea - thanks!
