January 16, 2009
Greetings!

Welcome to the first issue of the new NIA E-Newsletter!

My goal is to provide you with NIA news and updates with this e-mail newsletter.  I'll be writing you about local chapter events, magazine updates, website construction news, convention registrations, and more.

If you have ideas or recommendations of things you'd like to me include in these bi-weekly newsletters, I would love to hear them.

I welcome your suggestions!

 Sincerely,

Tonya Anderson

One of our goals for 2009 is to improve the way we communicatie with local NIA chapters and individual members.

These e-mail newsletters are a great way for us to do just that, because they're immediate, and will enable us to bridge the gap between magazine publication dates and provide you with up-to-the-minute information.

This also means that we can promote your local club events to NIA members who may not yet be a member of a local chapter.  We'll send NIA news and updates on a regular basis with this e-mail newsletter so you can share the information with your local chapter members.

This first e-mail has been sent to local NIA leaders for whom we have e-mail addresses, but we would like to expand these communications to all NIA members.  To do that, we need everyone's e-mail address!

Please encourage all of your chapter members to send us an e-mail here at the NIA offices with the word "subscribe" in the subject line so we can add their e-mail addresses to our database.  Please feel free to forward this e-mail to your NIA friends and club members - there is a link at the bottom of this page that makes that process quick and easy.

Change can be good, but it isn't always easy.

Jody and I would both like to thank the many NIA members and advisors who have shared suggestions and expertise as we have been learning the ropes. Our first year as new owners of the NIA was memorable for us, to be sure, and we are looking forward to 2009 with the experience and the knowledge that we've gained.

Looking back on our first year heading the National Impala Association, it is clear to both of us that production of  "Impala News" was probably our greatest challenge. Creating a magazine from the ground up has many "character-building opportunities", but we've enjoyed it.

We really hope you like the finished product.

With that, I would like to give you an update on the status of the magazine:

~ The 2008 Sept/Oct Issue #5 of "Impala News" was mailed this week and should begin to arrive in mailboxes shortly.

~ The Nov/Dec '08 and Jan/Feb '09 issues will be combined into a single magazine with 32 pages.  This will enable us to get current with publication dates and at the same time ensure that each member receives their full subscription.

~ Beginning with the Mar/April '09 magazine, we will be increasing the size of the magazine to 24 pages, up 4 pages from its current 20-page format.

That's great "Impala News" !
