I've got a 63 convertible that I'm restoring. The car has a 3rd week of October build date. Car has no motor or tran, and I'm looking to do a date correct resto. I was wondering what kind of range is acceptable for the drivetrain? Am I going to have to try to find an October 1963 block and heads? Anyone know how many months previous drivetrain date codes would be correct? June? July? thanks ahead for your help.

motor/trans/alt/water pump/rad.should all run a month or two ahead of body.carb can run 3 to 4/ Enter code here Please note: although no board code and smiley buttons are shown, they are still usable.

If it's a small block, I'd try keeping the dates within a month. 409s can run 3-4 months prior to the assembly date of the car. Verne Enter code here Please note: although no board code and smiley buttons are shown, they are still usable.
