Prepare for a totally long read! Photo's Q&A and Contact info is Below. For goodness sake spread the word about this car!
Your looking at one of the many milestones in Chevrolet's Automotive History.
1 of 4000 Car's in existence, And there's only a handful like this that are completely original and unmolested, And Yes, This is the complete numbers matching power train that the car was Born with, This is a All original numbers matching car, It still posses' everything it's been born with.
We've had this car in the family since Mile Zero, Originally Purchased at Dick Barone Chevrolet in Springfield PA. ( Which is now known as ROTHROCK Chevrolet )
This is a true survivor car, And Yes, This is one of the rarer Non Z24 optioned SS 427 cars, That means it came factory WITHOUT the Z24 appearance package. This is a SS Z03 optioned car.
As for more details on the powertrain, Its a original Big Block 427 Turbo 400 automatic car with the factory 12 bolt posi rear
This car was never modified and never restored in any way shape or form, this car is a Complete blast from the past, as if someone has kept it in a time capsule all it's years.
Despite the car being totally original and untouched it does need restoration, But the way the car is in it's current state it is STILL a Turn-Key Fully drivable car. And it's still outputting 385 HP, Really the only things needed done to it are Appearance wise, this car was never repainted, Never EVER Re-upholstered. And it did come with a Factory vinyl top. And it does show rust in both of the rear quarter panels, But, The floors are extremely solid, theres no rot in them whatsoever, The Trunk pan is Solid, And the engine bay is in Great shape showing little to no rust!
And another thing i should note, We still have every single part the car was born with in our possession as well. Including most of the Gaskets and the Carburetor. Right now it has the carb off of a 67' Corvette 427, 425hp motor, But we still have the original carb that the car was born with And the original air cleaner that goes on top of that.
Every trim piece, Every fiber in the carpet, Every inch of the glass, Every piece of vinyl in the upholstery, And even the Windshield wipers on this car. Is 100% Original.
Note: I have to stress this because a lot of people get this confused.
Many think that the SS 427 impala this model year came Standard with the 'Special Hood'... IT DID NOT! It was a Z24 Appearance Package!
This is NOT a Z24 optioned car, It is a standard SS Z03 numbered car.
Another thing you may notice in the back that the rear trim piece is missing on the trunk I STILL HAVE THAT TRIM PIECE! it has been removed for that of it not getting damaged further. And Yes, All of the original trim is still in our possession Including the top chrome headlight eyebrow moldings.
Please for goodness sake tell your friends and family about this car, spread the word because it has to go...
Another thing i should note: We've always had plans of restoring this car, But nearly every president of every local car club told us this. "You'd have to be crazy to restore that car, if it really is completely original its actually much more valuable in it's current state, If i was looking to buy one completely original i would want it in the condition yours is in and no further."
We've even been told this by most Appraisers... Same story most of the time.
This car was a big part of our family, It hold's much history and pedigree. And above all Memories.
When the classic car market spikes right back up again, and if the right person does want to restore this car correctly as it should back to its original form. This is probably one of the best investments you could think of if your an avid collector.
And yes, we do have most parts included with the sale if you ever did want to restore this piece of history. including replacement fenders, a newer hood, and the like.
Honestly, My dad was asking $28.500 for the car, But in these times and if a serious buyer comes along i know for a fact he can be more reasonable on the price.. This car is still a steal at that price, because in the future EVEN in it's current state it will be worth much more than that...Restored properly it would be worth an astronomical amount.
CONTACT INFORMATION: On my busy schedule, I won't be checking the forums as much as i'd like too. So my home number is ( 484 ) 422 - 8781 You can speak to my dad himself if you want.
