SO FINE IN 2009!!
Regional Convention of the National Impala Association, hosted by the Minnesota Impala Club
The Minnesota Impala Club wants to thank all of you for making the Minneapolis-St.Paul Regional Convention “So Fine in 2009”.
As our first day got under way it was wonderful to put faces with names and I kept thinking “This is why we belong, and why we keep coming back.” At the Welcome Party it was so fun to watch everyone reconnect with old friends and at the same time meet many new friends.
On Thursday even more people arrived with family and friends and the day was filled with a cruise to the Air National Guard Museum, and the Women’s Get Together with that wonderful Minnesota homemade apple cake. The day ended with the Dance Party featuring Scott Severson and all of our fabulous dancers.
Friday turned out to be a beautiful day for our back road cruise to St Paul and the tour of the Wabasha Caves to see and hear about the famous gangsters that hung out in St Paul. Our next stop was the Mississippi River for a cruise and dinner on the Jonathan Padelford riverboat. It was a perfect ending to a great day.
On Saturday we woke up to pouring rain which, while much needed, was very bad timing. The car show went on as planned and no one seemed to mind. Many took advantage of shopping at the Mall Of America or sitting in the Hospitality Room talking and enjoying each other’s company. It was a very relaxing day.
That evening, the Awards Banquet was held at the hotel with 145 guests. We had to hold our last PLP party in the Hospitality Room because of the rain that had continued all day. I don’t think anyone minded the close quarters tho - we closed the party down at 3:00AM!
We hope everyone enjoyed the Regional Convention as much as we enjoyed hosting it. We are looking forward to seeing you at a future NIA event, perhaps the 30th NIA anniversary in Spearfish in 2010.
